Pros

They hire people right out of college with no experience and has a pretty good training program to get you familiar with programming and working in a corporate environment.

Cons

Employees are horribly underpaid. This is not a job where you can make a living. My salary was about $20k less than the average starting salary for software developers with bachelor's degrees. Raises just barely keep up with inflation. Benefits aren't anything to write home about either. One thing to note also is the location. It is located in the deep ghettos of the south side of Chicago. The area is poverty-stricken and if you want to live in a decent area you'll have to commute quite a bit.

Pros

- The employees are generally nice. - Easy to land a job. - Good starting point out of school, but get the experience and then get out.

Cons

- Upper management is disconnected from the daily workings of the company. - It is difficult for departments who work together to agree on processes. - Constant infighting and lack of communication/understanding between departments. - Lower than average pay. - High expectation to work extra hours on nights and weekends with no overtime or other compensation. - Complete lack of rewards for hard working employees. - Generous helpings of negative feedback for even the slightest issue. - Complete lack of control over turnover. - New hires are typically not ready for the job until 6 months of employment and are given zero formal training. - Sales inflates customer expectations and uses shady sales tactics to close deals. - Lots of scope creep on projects. - No concrete timelines or planning on projects. - No channels for advancement. - Develops using VB.net.

A great place to start your career

Pros

If you make the best of it, you get to work with some really great people (even with the negativity that follows the job), collective team effort, great starting knowledge, challenging responsibilities require you to be multifaceted (if you like that, it's a plus), some really intelligent people in the right places, huge target market with great job security, hard work and dedication are recognized by all in the department (verbally and monetarily), work can be extremely gratifying at times.

Cons

Interdepartmental miscommunication on so many levels (which at times can seem like a rivalry), ridiculous and deceitful sales practice, workload is unbalanced and can be overwhelming at times, consistency in a high quality of work will take a considerable amount of time to achieve, not enough loyalty and support from senior management, and pay could be a lot better considering the amount of responsibility.
