Pros
Plenty of good hard working employees. Health insurance was cheap(coverage sucked). Supposedly a pension that I'm sure will get drained once the crazy high number of 25 year plus employees retire.
Cons
Very low pay for level of responsibility and skill level. Frequently promotes interns and others with little to no experience to lead/management positions. Frequently plays games when confronted with the low pay question by employees, pretending there is no issue or they pay an acceptable level of salary. Will make claims they look at salary reports but then leave out they only take into account data from where they are located and to the west which is all rural and ignore all the higher paying towns just east of their location. Or they may claim they are trying to be fair to the low paid employees in other locations/regions such as Europe and that is why. But then no one in the US receives the many weeks worth of vacation days that the Europeans do. Also does an abnormally high number of organisation restructures/changes and keeps employees in the dark about any details so they don't know what their job will become or even if they will still have one. I.T. leadership has traditionally been a joke, led by a bunch of clowns that clearly have no clue what they want or are even doing. Employees have been promoted out of Europe, show preference to others in Europe and treat American employees like a lower class. I.T. leadership pushes through giant projects without knowing what the implications will be. Once the project is over and business efficiency is completely ruined the marathon finger pointing game can begin.
