Pros

Friendly people Chill environment Extremely safe macroscopic decisions Limited liability

Cons

No feedback. Too little job security for managers to give advice or teach necessary tools. Too little work to justify a lot of positions. Jobs constantly moving overseas. Not much communication because no one can really afford to. Whole executive team leaves. A fear of exposing revenue potential because of potential sale by parent company. Constant acquisitions to hide revenue and prevent promotion or higher salaries. Great place for upper management to hide out until they're sick of stagnation. Great place to hide out for people lost in existentialism.

It is important to understand a little more about Aptean's strategy and the business objectives that we have. First and foremost, we have a very customer-focused strategy and we have continued to invest in the best way to continue to bring value to our customers through our product and service capabilities, which require being more efficient and better skilled. We have also put more investment into our current products, as well as new innovations, than ever before. Of course, there is always room to improve, but the feedback from our customers continues to be positive. The acquisitions we have completed are very important for us in building strength in delivering great solutions to the vertical markets we serve, like Public Sector. These acquisitions not only give the acquired businesses opportunity to grow, but give our employees challenging work and opportunities to grow as well. We can always communicate better and we appreciate that feedback - we need to keep a focus on this and continue to improve. The two pronged strategy we have, to continue to be very customer-focused and to acquire businesses which can leverage our knowledge, experience and capabilities is what we are focused on executing. As a private equity owned company, we will always be for sale and attractive only if we have a good strategy that is well executed on. That is our focus.

Pros

Compensation plans, although constantly changing are pretty friendly.

Cons

High stress placed on sales due to trickling down pressure from Vista. Moved offices which increased the commute for over 60% of employees without adding a more flexible work schedule(work from home days, leaving a little earlier to avoid hours of traffic). Company being shopped around by Vista for potential sale. Products are outdated.. not written in the latest programming languages making it difficult to show customers a product future worth buying into. outsourcing many jobs overseas to reduce operating costs and increase EBITDA, which is all they care about.

We appreciate the feedback. Private equity ownership has been critical for our business, as it has allowed us the opportunity to re-invest in our customer base and in our products – many of our products had not been invested in properly in the past and over the past 18+ months, we have been able to deliver on many functional and technical enhancements for our existing and new customers. Many of our customers have responded positively to these changes. We still have work to do to improve, but we are definitely making good progress. A private equity owner is always looking for new investments in the companies they own and that should be seen as positive, as we are a company that has potential and one that other companies are interested in investing in. Regarding our office space - in order to operate more effectively, we moved to a work space that allows for much greater collaboration and team work, which I have seen improve our team's productivity. While it did increase the commute for some (less than 50% of the workforce), it decreased it for others. Additionally, we provide a flexible environment where working from home is always an option.

Pros

The coworkers make coming to the office bearable. They are willing to give new graduates a chance and provide decent training

Cons

Management was disconnected from the regular employees. Too many changes were made in such a short amount of time, including letting hardworking employees go
