It's not what it used to be

Pros

Hard to say, so many of the great things at Aquent are changing. It used to be very different from other sales organizations, it wasn't cutthroat and super stressful. The work-life balance is awesome, and the opportunity to use the company's beach houses in Florida and Hawaii is great if you can get it.

Cons

I left because I was disappointed by the changes and decisions being made by management. I can't speak for the whole company, but my team in particular was going through a lot of changes, and I continue to hear things are getting worse. One must look at these changes and wonder if the company is in financial distress. Or perhaps they are getting ready to sell? It's simply not the same, people are dropping like flies and most my friends still there are all looking. It almost seems like they knew this would happen and are ok with it. It's a total turnover for cheaper people. Clients should beware, new people interviewing need to dig deep and ask tough questions about what's going on. Not a place I would recommend to anyone at this point. You can be stressed elsewhere and make much better money.

Company Driven By Sales and Metrics - Not Great for Recruiters

Pros

- great training for new recruiters - had a support manager that took the time to invest in training, making themselves available and mentorship - collaborative work environment where people would be willing to help

Cons

- not much transparency from leadership, business objectives and why metrics were so rigid -unfair favoritism for employees on WFH/vacation policy, not consistent across the entire team - very sales driven, this is great company if you want to make money in Sales but have a cushion in your base salary, recruiters get the run around from Sales - unclear career growth opportunities and internal hires/fires are made hush so it comes as a surprise to all without any explanation - talked about holism, but it was not implemented by individual teams - base salary and bonus structure not the same from Recruiters and Sales which isn't very fair

Hello there! Since you worked here, I'm sure you're not surprised to get a response from me here, and I'm disappointed (of course) to read your comments. I'd like to understand more about your experience. I'm sure you know I work hard to provide transparency, and our practice of holism and flexible vacation policy I believe are important to our company. Finally, having been both an agent and salesperson here, I know how equally important both roles are to our business. Please reach out to me directly at shall@vitamintalent.com and 323 475 7374.

Total Joke

Pros

Like everyone says..."Good benefits". That's all I can say. Believe me, you PAY dearly for those benefits.

Cons

Where do I start? Management is a joke. Bunch of zilches who pat eachother on the back for reading spreadsheets and making power point presentations. Upper management thinks their poo don't stink because their office is on Boylston in Boston. They think they're Google but it's a Jonestown kool aid management cult. Boot camp? What are we, 8? A waste of 3 days of your life learning about how the sky is blue. Aquent hemmorages money and makes lowly sales people pay the price. Golden parachutes. PC culture. Like most staffing companies; very female-centric. Caddy. Petty. Gossipy. Annoying. Big brother. Threats. Numbers. Numbers. Numbers. CEO can not STAND insolence or being told he's wrong when he's wrong. Get ready to interview for your own job ALL THE TIME.
