Pros

Free lunch. Now that was a real money saver. Also, being hourly with very little overtime offered made for a nice 40 hour week and a great work /life (or work/second job) sort of existence.

Cons

While working with Aramark Higher education, I found that in addition to low wages and poor development opportunities for employees not working directly in the food location management, the company seemed to have a general disregard to it's employees overall with high-priced health coverage and lacking vacation leave. The management was, if anything, highly ineffectual.

Pros

Mostly no nights or weekends. As far as hours are concerned this is the only pro.

Cons

Correctional Services in the Dallas Regional Office has no stable management; she IS manipulated by her employee with the greatest longevity. The bad egg thrives with dirty underhanded politics being rewarded. Employees who are willing to work for the near minimum wage are overworked and are required to juggle multiple tasks plus the tasks of others when they do not show up regularly and/or are constantly late with no repercussions. No respect to those with the best performance rate and employees are like a sheep to slaughter.

Tough at first, but it gets much better.

Pros

Be a hard and smart worker. Get your foot in the door and prove yourself to your superiors and you will get promoted. You also have to be motivated and put yourself out there to your bosses and they will help you get your career moving.

Cons

Paying your dues can be pretty tough, but if you can stick through it, you will be able to do great things if you prove yourself.
