Losing talent

Pros

There are still some very smart folks around. The work-life balance is also good with very flexible hours and you are welcomed to WFH.

Cons

Unfortunately it appears that nobody sticks around after their 4 year stock options are fully vested, unless they are in a managerial position, probably due to the very low salary. With the rate that people are leaving, it appears that the company cannot even hire fast enough to maintain headcount, so there's very little opportunity to move upwards as well.

Pros

excellent quality of code in the core product. Great hiring: I did not meet a single person that I questioned why they were there. Very talented people!

Cons

they short people on bonuses and commissions. The CEO approves all pay personally. You never know when you will receive your non-salary pay. stock is volatile based on how a single, specific customer does. Managers and VP's have little power to compensate their workers.

Pros

Good product and technical support

Cons

The worst manager I have ever worked for. Everyone is resting and investing waiting for their original shares to vest. You will make minimal money on their compensation plan. There is no support or communication. The comp plan seems good at first but then you start selling and realize they are more expensive and the only way to make any money is to price higher than competition.
