Unique culture, great people, expected to take initiative

Pros

* Management in the engineering team is highly technical, and the higher the position the smarter people are * Lots of room for career growth * Lots of different projects to choose from * Give people responsibility, no matter your experience level * Transparent peer review process and proactive raises if you are worth it For people who are energetic and love doing different things, this is THE company you should work for. You can learn from a lot of smart people. But you have to take initiative, as there is zero micro management. Nobody is babysitting you unless you are incompetent (and going to be fired).

Cons

* Could be hard to adapt to since many things (culture, tools, management structure) are different from traditional big companies * Compensation isn't great if you don't believe in stock options This is probably harder for more senior people who come from companies that give a lot of cash compensation (no bonus here yet!)

Pros

The people here are very high caliber. They are committed to the vision of the company, are extremely talented in their fields, and yet they are also very personable and great to work with. Everyone all the way up the chain is very hands on and help out where it is needed. Meetings are typically extremely efficient with folks very prepared and decisions made quickly. Lots of free food, drinks, and snacks and even a weekly beer bash. Products are extremely well received in the market, so tons and tons of growth opportunity (both because still being small, each employee is involved in multiple areas and because of the sales growth).

Cons

As a smaller company, you have to be willing to wear multiple hats and be willing to get elbow-deep hands-on when necessary (although you can also expect this in return). There are not a lot of established processes/policies and there are multiple locations you have to scour through to find documentation (although this is starting to improve). Salary comp tends to be on the lower-end of the market and there is no formal bonus or profit-sharing program yet.

Pros

if that was not obvious ... flood of great reviews in last 1 month :) you can judge them from fact that its all praise n nothing realistic in "Cons" section... yes, there are good reasons to work here but I wont repeat those. I'd like you to join and enjoy yourself but just trying to help you with the facts before you join, rather than regret later.

Cons

They used to blame cisco openly earlier, which is bad. Now that they have hired so many cisco veterans and same culture growing here... same politics and job security tactics if you know :). Their products have lost the low-latency edge. With SDN there is no new breakthrough or technology advantage. In fact, ppl work on same features that are present in market products. The smartest of the lot have left for exciting places, if you know which. yes, you will make decent money with equity, but dont expect to retire.
