Upper Management doesn't seem to care about the workers. They understand that the money comes from big named professors. You are expected to work more than 40 hours each week as salaried employees, which wouldn't be bad but the way it happens throws off your work-life balance. Not all units are like that though. In all, if you are not on the academic side of the workplace, this isn't a great job. Again, each unit is different and not all units are as bad as others but just be ware.

Management in certain newer areas is terrible. All very political. If you are not "in" with what I'd call the manager brown-nosers, and are not a brown-noser yourself, you will be let go. I was so proud and happy to work for ASU but I was let go with no reason given. Things were good, I had no performance concerns that I was aware of, hardly ever took lunch or other time off, but I was unexpectedly let go.....no reason given. It was crushing.
