Pros

Pay is not bad in comparison to other retailers, decent benefits and one of few organizations that offer a retirement package.

Cons

As a senior manager, I see the disconnect from HQ leadership as it trickles down to the field. Area managers are out to make a name for themselves and expect management to work associates into the ground. Productivity targets and personnel costs are at the forefront of everything we do with the expectation that you will do more with less. I've watched the company deteriorate as we have moved from military leadership to civilian leadership with no concept of what it means to take care of it's people in order that they may provide quality customer service. As for me, I've invested too much time already to make a move to the outside. I will do my time trying to do the right thing for the customer and my associates. I would advise prospective management candidates to consider their options before accepting a job with the Exchange.

Pros

Very stable, easy going, great work-life balance

Cons

Under-educated senior management lacking basic skills won't allow you to grow. They are real waste to this company and drive talent away.

Pros

The only thing is overtime

Cons

Where do I start. You will be worked out of your grade doing 3 different jobs and not get paid for it. I'm a stocker and they also had me as a picker and forklift driver. The only thing I was getting paid for was a stocker which is rank 4 paying 10.67. Everything else I do is a rank 5 paying around 11.45+. They still won't make the rank 4s that they use as rank 5s a 5. 4 years only a 10 cent raise. Managers will try to get you out the door if they feel like your a threat to their corruption. Too much bias. Too much drama amongst employees. Your a target for managers if you know the policy. UNDERPAID. company makes over 6.3 billion a year and we get paid like crap. It's just all about the money greed. .Certain managers don't know how to talk to employees. Treat others they're stupid and little kids. If your talking while working you're wrong. Managers only listens to one side of a story which is the Forman when it pertains to an employee. The only way you know your in trouble for a reason you have no knowledge about is when you get sent to a different area without an explanation or a communication without hearing your side of the story about what happen. One last thing. They will rush you to meet tote time after they take people away and only leave you 1 or 2 pickers. You also have managers who knows nothing about their employees nor anything about the job they do. You have managers who knows nothing about their area. Full time employee does 3 people jobs to make up for the under staffing we have with nonpayment increase. Hiring nothing but Temps so they won't have to give benefits nor pay much and they can get rid of them anytime. Temps also works 26hrs a week. More work for us. This warehouse is not for people who wants to gain experience nor for anybody who wants to progress. Yes people are leaving this job for Walmart. Their stockers and forklift drivers starts off with 15 an hr.
