      We’re happy you felt your compensation and vacation were competitive. We’re sad to hear about the 10 hour days, this isn’t the balance we’re trying to achieve. Not knowing what area of the business you worked in makes it hard to forward on this feedback. But we’re committed to collecting feedback from our Particles and using this to continue to improve their employee experience. You’re correct, our founders are not from the furniture business, they’re engineers, who are obsessed with solving problems and doing things differently.       Focus on Truly Striving to Achieve the Article Way

      Several years ago, Article came up with a very well composed set of company values called the Article Way. These values are extremely well articulated and serve as a great guide for how Particles should conduct themselves on a daily basis. Article has performed incredibly well on two of the values and quite poorly on the other two. Here are the positives: Customer Obsession-Amazing job of creating great competitively priced products and delivering them to our customers. In a time where customer service has lagged with many companies, Article stands out in their obsessiveness to details. Do it Differently-Article continually evaluates their processes and those of competitors and determines if it is the best way of doing things. This mindset has created brilliant innovations that have been the biggest factor in Article's amazing success.

      Cons

      Win Together - Many who excel at Article look out for themselves and focus on assuring their accomplishments and merits are glorified. Often, they will sabotage and mischaracterize others to keep from being upstaged. Ownership Mindset - The personality above is focused on consolidating power with no regard for the effect of their actions on the company beyond short term perception. Power consolidators like to expand their influence through additional hiring that inevitably leads to extreme inefficiency.

      Hi and thank you for sharing your experience. While the Article Way is truly a set of guiding principles for how we work Article. We recognize that in our current situation, there is work and reflection to be done. We are revisiting how we demonstrate and monitor the performance of ALL of of our guiding principles, not just our Customer Obsession and Do It Differently. It is important, as we move forward, that we refocus and address any areas where lack of accountability or inefficiencies exist. We recognize that we have an exceptional team, and had to part way with some truly amazing people.       Thank you for leaving a review, we appreciate your honestly. While we were extremely fortunate to experience the growth that happened during the past two years, we were not alone in the eCommerce and Tech industries impacted by a changing market. The pandemic has been incredibly difficult for every business, and we do our best to navigate that ever-changing landscape, however, it led to some very hard but necessary decisions to restore our position of financial strength.
