Pros

I had not previously worked in the financial services industry prior to join Ascensus but was immediately provided extensive internal training and educational resources to bring me up to speed with my peers. As a recent college grad, I have found Ascensus to be an excellent place to jump start my professional career. I have already attended 4 internal training courses and recently enrolled in a certification program (in which Ascensus has agreed to fund my participation). At my previous employer, the work environment was extremely competitive and individualistic. Here, associates have a team-oriented mindset and are supportive of one another's success. The internal associate recognition programs provide incentive to continue to work to the best of your ability.

Cons

Would like more opportunities to network with associates in different departments and learn about different functions across the company.

Pros

Great coworkers and peers. Chance to work from home once a week as long as you have daycare your kids. Love the time off and the semi-flexible work schedule. Wish medical and other benefits were better.

Cons

Sad 401(k) match, especially for a company working in the retirement industry. Software and tools are extremely out of date, including Microsoft products and development tools. Making it impossible to upgrade our software applications easily. You don't have a computer with the right hardware to support multi-tasking without application failure or extreme slowness. There is a lack of continued education or training opportunities internally. To continue growing in your career you have to locate outside sources. There is no career growth or career path once you hit a senior level and promotions happen rarely for the people that can work and do their job well. There are multiple levels of management within certain departments, to the point where management is almost as populated as workers.
