Overall, a great experience, in particular, my first 6 years there.

Pros

Good benefits, and generous vacation time. Mostly friendly people. I had the pleasure of working there for 16 years. Mostly all great memories. One of the last few companies that enable (and pay for) Softball, and other events like Christmas parties and Summer picnics.

Cons

My last 3 and a half years there went slowly down hill. It became obvious to me that there were nepotistic events for people who had no clue on how to do the job they got promoted to. I was laid off from a job there in which I excelled and even won an award. They have another building in Brainerd Minnesota, in which there is a major disconnect between their site, and the Dresher PA site. Instead of working in harmony, there was always more of a power struggle among the 2 sites, and thus more nepotism. I was laid off due to outsourcing after working there for 16 years. With all of that said, the saddest part for me was when I tried to stay in the company, I applied for a different job there. I passed the phone interview with no problem, then I passed the assessment test with no problem. HR told me that because of the answers given by me in the test, that I was exactly what they were looking for. So, I went in for the face to face interview, which seemed to go very well. In the closing of my interview, they told me that I would be contacted soon, either way. A week went by, and from my eagerness, I called HR back to follow up. The HR woman in Brainerd said I would be contacted shortly after I hung up with her, and that she was sending a message to the HR Director to contact me right away. Another week went by, and I was still not contacted, so I called back again. Again, she said I would be contacted shortly, and it never happened. I was not contacted by HR or the hiring Managers who I had the interview with. This was back in December, and it is now almost May. The company's main slogan is "People Matter". This was not displayed by anyone during this possible hiring process. I see that other people on this site went through the same exact thing that I did, which tells me there is definite disconnect between Human Resources and possible employees.
