A Complicated Organization!

Pros

Lots of smart people. Interesting subject matter, able to attract movers and shakers to speak. Obviously Asia is important these days. Beautiful new buildings in Hong Kong and Houston, TX.

Cons

Very complicated structure; regional offices are extremely independent, don't work well with others. Unusually high employee dissatisfaction. Lack of collaborative spirit (departments are extremely silo-ed). Big egos - many departments run like little fiefdoms. Very elitist - focus on upper-class, wealthy donors, little concern for general audiences.

My team in was cutting edge, the leadership of the division was highly knowledgeable, dynamic, and influential I had many opportunities to create programs of great value

Cons

The management was scrambling to redefine its mission. There were some difficult upheavals due to budget pressures

Cons

Low pay, structure of the organization is far-flung and sometimes balkanized. Sometimes can be stuffy and reactive instead of forward-thinking and proactive.
