Pros

Good for the experience to fill out up your resume. Friendly staff, they do give you opportunity to participate at events and help with programs.

Cons

Working as an Intern at Asia Society (SF) provides good experience in non-profit, but if your looking to get hired they will not look at you twice. I repeat, do not expect an internship to turn into anything but more than free labor on your dime.

A political and budgetary nightmare.

Pros

The people who work there. The everyday grunts that make the society work day in and day out. The people who work 24/7 without any gratitude or compensation.

Cons

Dealing with political upper management. Insufficient budget to support great ideas and programs. Waste of funds by upper management that causes layoffs or budget cuts in programs that generate profits.

Pros

Great coworkers at the bottom.

Cons

Terrible management, compensation, belittling, promise of overtime but being told to only log 40 hours even when you work longer.
