Pros

Schedule isn’t too bad, when they leave it the way it is. Pay isn’t the worst but not the best either.

Cons

They don’t do background checks and hire ex-cons...might be a pro for those getting out of prison and need a job. They don’t drug test and hire druggies. Management is the absolute worst. The MICROMANAGEMENT is utterly ridiculous and needs to stop. No one gets along, not even the managers. They constantly change your schedule without your consent. They fire people for missing a few excused days with the reason being “work abandonment”

Pros

So much overtime opportunity Some employees are great people 25% Discount Lots of work to do

Cons

Management unorganized Last minute changes to everything Works part timers full time hours until the 11 week limit and cuts hours for a week so they don't have to pay for insurance on more full timers Understaffed (max of 8 or 9 employees in store for a day shift, half of which are supposed to work truck and instead get stuck with register and customers) Pay for the amount of work Lots of gossip and managers undercutting each other No cashiers No floor workers No work life balance 50 to 70+ hour weeks during the busy season no matter if youre part time or full time due to the lack of employees No advancement unless you can work mostly nights

Pros

Employee discount is great since you will find a lot of home essentials in this store. Most people you work with are friendly and helpful. It is a good part-time gig if you can only take up 15-20 hours per week.

Cons

I was shocked to see that we were never trained in providing a good shopping experience to the customers, instead the manager will often tell us that the customers are not to be trusted. Managers lack expertise and do not really care about customer satisfaction, which should really be the highest priority in a retail job. They do not have a system in place for processing online orders which can be frustrating to customers, because they get a confirmation on placing the order but then half of the items are missing when they come over to pick up their orders?! As cashiers we have to deal with these angry customers while managers continue to blame us - while they never train us in the first place. Instead they bully the employees for being incompetent instead of owning up to their own mistakes and lack of communication!
