Medical and dental coverage very good

Cons

Corporate CEO and CFO are concerned only with money and uses bullying tactics with the individual buildings. Horrible way to treat long-standing employees who truly cared about the clientele......our residents. Overworked and understaffed. Many loyal and dedicated employees have left jobs that they once loved.

Although Athena has acquired additional centers over the past few years, we have only expanded in geographical areas with an existing Athena footprint, to not stretch our team too thin. Our expansion has served to strengthen our centers and fortify our financial stability. Because of this, we believe our managed centers are a better place for residents to live, patients to stay and employees to work. Our employees, patients, residents and families are the reason we are here and do what we do. Not only do we continually strive to be the best in the care and services we provide to our patients and their families, we aim to be the employer of choice through treating our employees with the dignity and respect they deserve, going above and beyond what most employers provide when it comes to our exceptional and generous benefits, as well as competitive wages. Employees choose Athena centers because they share our common goal of providing the best care to our patients and they know our reputation. They stay with Athena because of the outstanding working environment, benefits, career advancement opportunities and much more. Additionally, Athena has an established grievance procedure for employees who feel their concerns have not been sufficiently addressed at the center level. We invite all employees to utilize this (via mail, email and phone access) and communicate this is several ways.

Pros

The low cost of health insurance, the section 125 plan, direct patient care staff comradery and the annual softball tournament.

Cons

Direct care staff is unappreciated by corporate management. Patient care is not a priority...only the financials matter. Just because something can be put down on paper, doesn’t mean it can be practiced in real life situations.
