Pros

they will hire you with good perks

Cons

they will throw you out the moment the customer contract is released from them. the HR will give a "courtsey" call to you and ask you to put papers and take away 3 months salary etc.

Pros

-Company is very good about paying for your certifications. - Plenty of vacation time given - HR is responsive when problems arise.

Cons

- Below average pay for the work we did. - Inexperienced manager who placed neophyte members of the team as leads over people with 10-20 years of IT knowledge. Because of the lack of experience in lead positions, projects were late and numerous network outages occurred while I was there. - Manager alienated his team due to him constantly making poor decisions. One bad decision was hiring guys with no IT experience who used to worked in fast food restaurants. - Manager stayed in his office for most of the day and never had a pulse on what was happening with his team. -Instead of promoting from within, management would find someone from different satellite data centers around the country.

Pros

Compensation is maybe a little above average depending on the title, bonuses have been great or at least they have not missed one yet since I've been here. Work from home is another perk and I've never been micro managed. They are very relaxed on work loads if there is a family issue. All in all if you have the right manager this is a great place to work. Most of the people are great to work with and I've met some really great people.

Cons

In some area's I've seen what I would consider un-realistic expectations on the number of hours you work. I myself did spend 6 months working upon average 70 hours a week and I know some were putting in longer weeks. This is a major con and you should be very aware of that. Sometimes sharing information from the management side is very slow or none at all. Moving to other positions seems very difficult or so it seems since I've been laid off. There are many people not doing the work of their job title and I've not done what I was hired to do, but I see this as both a Pro and Con. This does give you a chance to grow but when you have people doing other jobs that they have no training for you shouldn't count on the results.
