Pros

Rewarded for doing “extras” (precepting, research, special projects, extra board certification) via a career ladder structure

Cons

Since the merger with Advocate, feel less essential and harder for your voice to be heard. Things move at a snails pace to get stuff done since needs so many levels of review.

Pros

You get to connect with patient's in their homes and provide hospital level care. You work independently and interact virtually with Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists, Physical Therapists, you name it. Excellent for building a deeper understanding of long term disease processes.

Cons

The program has grown too quickly and outpaced it's resources. You will be often be given 13-14 hours of work to be completed in 12 hours. They won't begrudge you the overtime, and they'll pay you well for it. Just know that's what it will be when you walk in.
