      Pros

      PTO plan is nice, easy to use. Job stability. Opportunities to do just about anything for the system are great - if they interest you. The system encourages work/life balance. However, this can be overridden by a manager that doesn't agree with that policy.

      Cons

      Wages are stagnant. CHS owns the employee insurance company. Insurance plans are terrible. There are a lot of incompetent people in management who shouldn't hold those positions.

      Pros

      committment to healthcare, co-workers, variability of patient profiles, mentoring and training, many locations, large organization, "name-brand". There is a committment to patient safety and to providing healthcare in an ethical manner.

      Cons

      not family friendly, poor work/life balance, treated as a "name/number", low pay, lack of flexibility. There is emphasis on Lean Management that is destroying the culture of caring. The Lean teams state that the focus is on the patient experience but I do not agree that that is what actually is occurring.

      Pros

      The hospital system as a whole is not bad. There is job security and the pay is comparable with other hospitals in the area.

      Cons

      Terrible work environment. Too much work place politics. The manager clearly has friends and favorites amongst us. She holds meetings and threaten people. Backstabbing is on a daily basis with the manager right in the middle of it. Please do not come to this lab to work. The highest turnaround for employees that I have ever experienced. Very high stress work area. DO NOT COME TO THIS HISTOLOGY LAB AT CMC MAIN. GO ELSE WHERE WITH YOUR EDUCATION.
