Pros

Auction.com has a strong business model and some very talented people. Pretty good salaries and benefits overall. Got a big investment from Google in 2014

Cons

The leadership is completely lacking in collaboration and transparency. In less than a year at the company I witnessed three total restructures and my group reported to four different senior managers. The company is always demoting hard working staff or laying people off with no apparent rationale - then they turn around and advertise for open positions. Constant turmoil -it was like a revolving door - biggest mistake I ever made.

The worst company I ever worked

Pros

Some nice and talented people I have worked with there although most of them are gone now.

Cons

Lots of talented and hard working people have left or are leaving the company. Very bad nepotism and clicks there. Very bad top executive choices. Although the company is claiming doing well, it is really not rosy as it is painted to be. The company was sold to THL, an equity firm, last year. The management is trying to cut the corners and re-package the company then resale it since lots of them reinvested in the company hoping to make some good cash out of it. Seeing who left and are leaving the company can tell a lot about your business outlook which is not very bright right now. Multiple layoffs since last year. The latest one was in 02/2018 with over 130 people.

Pros

They pay well and have a no-PTO program for some employees.

Cons

Managment is actively against you, here. I was personally told by my boss that promotion was "a distraction" and that I should focus on my work. Mangers insist you do things their way, then when things go wrong they chew you out publicly for making a bad decision. They're making great money (they say), but the raises are paltry and we're constantly being told there's no budget for new equipment or software. They'll want to give you stock options and tell you we're going to IPO in the next 12-18 months, but internaly we're told there are no plans to IPO. It's a "distraction". Oh, and the "training" they offer is in cutting-edge tools like Excel and Word. I've never worked anywhere with HR as incompetent as it is here. If you're lucky, it will take them months to get you important paperwork. I've been waiting on something over 6 months now, they keep telling me they're "working on it". Several requests to HR went completely unanswered. But they're quick to urge us to write good things on Glassdoor! The company is also constantly reorganizing and rearranging everyone. We've had 3 business reorgs in the last 6 months. This does not bode well.
