Pros
Genuinely intentioned people, genuine effort. Great pay esp for non tech. Beautiful building in Newark, I always felt very safe there despite my preconceived conceptions of the city. Small company feel is real, if you can get scrappy and figure it out there's a lot to learn. Typical tech perks, though the free lunch is not enough food for one person so know that it's more of a cafeteria where you'll need to make purchases if you want protein. Innovation Cathedral is absolutely stunning, but a lot of thought went into the more corporate buildings as well, and though there are never enough meeting spaces, it really is a bright, colorful and inspiring space no matter where you work.
There is not a number, compensation wise, or a level of work life balance, that I can compare to closing my computer and knowing I wasn't making the world worse. That's hard to find these days, and you will find yourself that job at Audible.
Cons
Some politics and light bullying that are not for the thin skinned., you'll notice I do say I'd rec this place to a friend(I referred several people) I have to note I could not come back. I'm just too sensitive to play the kind of games you need to play in order to do well here. I think most people would be fine. There's an expectation to perform happiness and perform the People Principles even when you're not able to live them, and I personally failed at that many times. Mandatory RTO :(. I had no work life balance. If you did manage to take time off, teams are too small to have anyone cover for you unless you're an SDE so you'd come back to fires.
