Pros

Curriculum is aligned across the district, social security. gay friendly district, has a wellness program, somewhat supports National Board certification.

Cons

Low teacher salary compared to other districts in Central Texas, not enough teaching and counseling staff to support student needs, no program to get a masters degree, dyslexia department is understaffed leading to slow diagnostic testing and admission into 504.

Got paid every month and there's supposedly a decent retirement pension.

Cons

Curriculum changes all the time, money wasted on textbooks and not enough training on new math curriculum.

Education is a rewarding profession. It's amazing to watch 14yrs turn from children into young adults capable of thinking critically and applying what they've learned.
