Pros

Thoroughly enjoyed working with every family I've worked with as well as the employees. You are able to dive into actual work directly while being trained. Great on-site job training. Even though you're often working independently, you maintain constant communication with other DSPs, clinical supervisors, and HR. You go from part-time to full-time in a very short period. You at least get $5 Starbucks gift card after leaving.

Cons

You're assigned 1 to 3 location on a daily basis, which may lead to huge traveling expenses that outweigh your given salary. Even though you're given mileage reimbursement, it may not be enough. You're assign different locations that maybe scattered within a 20 mile radius of your location. Recommend to college students (who are currently in school) who needs the experience.

Pros

I have been working since Feb 2016, it's flexible to my schedule. Even though it's part time I can still bring home a decent pay check. Working with children make its a fulfilling experience.

Cons

Wish it was a full time job.

Pros

I started working part-time at APL June of 2015 and I’m still currently employed. I feel good about being employed with a company that truly cares about the families they provide services for. We at APL work as a team with the other DSP’s and supervisors on my cases. The supervisors are available to guide or lend support when needed this is a major help, I never feel lost or alone because we work together. I’ve always wanted to help people and make a difference so, the fact that we work so closely with the children and families brings me great joy. At the end of the day I know my work matters and that I am part of a team that is making a huge difference in these families’ lives.

Cons

There are no morning hours available mostly after school hours. Its hard to be a full time employee, I don't think they hire full time dsp's. I work every week day but at 3 hours a day its barley enough to keep the lights on and keep me fed, so I had to get another job just to make rent. I do think it's good job for a college student who wants experience or getting into this field. Cancellation without notice is only 1 hour so this means that I have lost my day of work and will not be paid, If the family cancelled before 1 hours’ notice. However, The company is good about employee surveys and making changes.
