Pros

Pick great families to work for/with

Cons

Talk about your supervisors in the IE. These people are SO VICIOUS. They are rude, gossiping people. UNPROFESSIONAL. This company loves to comment on their reviews but they stay ignoring anything talking about their sups.

Pros

Salary Great supervisors Good co workers

Cons

Do not prioritize employees at all of it interfered with what the clinic needs. They severed all pay and benefits during the shut down for COVID-19. Basically told us to go screw ourselves until this blows over. Makes you feel very disposable and a horrible Showing of the true colors of This company.

We as an organization are taking the COVID-19 outbreak very seriously and our top priorities are the health and safety of our staff and families. Our centers are still open and we are offering home based services, while implementing the strictest safety precautions. We have hours available if you would like to work, or you have the option of going on leave if you do not want to work in the interest of your health. Your benefits are frozen as is, so you will not lose your benefits. We want to get through this difficult time as best as possible with the least amount of impact to our staff. As always, please reach out to your Clinical Director for questions specific to your situation. We appreciate your hard work and dedication to our clients.

Pros

I'd been in the industry for a couple years before starting with AST. Their therapy practices are fairly solid, which is harder to find in agencies than you'd hope. While I was familiar with the stuff in the training, I found the training to be very thorough, which is definitely important, especially for those unfamiliar with the industry.

Cons

To get full time hours, you have to spend an insanely long amount of time away from home (13 hours 5 days a week for me). I never feel treated like a person, just a work robot. When I started, I was told to just let them know when you start to feel burned out. When I started reaching my point of burn out, I let them know immediately. It took over a month for any changes to be made to my schedule. And even then, they only lasted a week before they extended my days back to 13 hours without my consent. Long drives. Very long drives. It takes me roughly an hour to get to my first client, then another hour from the other direction to get back home after my last client. You feel punished for taking time off. Even though it's well earned, you are often made to feel like it is a huge burden, and taking time off causes as much stress as continuing working. Not to mention, for the industry, allowed PTO comes far later than it should.

I appreciate your comments about our training and therapy practices, thank you. I am very sorry to hear that you did not feel appreciated or supported in taking time off. As a company we give staff PTO (and allow you to roll from year to year) so that you can use it to take a break. We only request that you give us advance notice of your plans, so that we can plan accordingly and provide the best possible services to our clients. If you felt otherwise, that was not at all our intention. As an organization, we are committed to creating an excellent working environment for all our staff - where they can feel great about their work, get the hours that they want (with as little drive time as possible) and develop as a professional. If we let you down in this way, I am sorry. I appreciate your feedback and wish you well in your future. - Justin
