Pros

You get to connect with some really awesome kids and make a difference in their lives.

Cons

I stayed at this job for less than 4 months because I felt to undervalued. I tried to have open communication with my supervisors from the beginning about my availability (I had another job as well) and my concerns with my schedule and drive time. I talked with her several times yet when my schedule came out it was still the exact opposite of what I had asked for with my other job. I was driving so far and being worked so hard between jobs I quit this one because I was making less money here than I was serving in a restaurant. I continually emailed my supervisor to try to work out a solution but I did not get a single reply until I told them I was quitting. Then they were willing to discuss solutions, but, it was too little too late. I was heartbroken to leave because I had bonded with my families but after realizing how the BTs are treated here and multiple failed attempts to simply speak to my supervisor I knew I had to. I do not like leaving anywhere on bad terms so I even tried to reach out to my supervisor after I left to simply say thank you for the opportunity and ask some advice but, you guessed it. No reply. If you are a person who values communication with your higher ups or has a lot of questions about instructions/ the job, the company isn’t for you.

Pros

Meeting and connecting with families and kids.

Cons

Management is atrocious. The lack of compassion is truly unnerving. I have never worked for a group so set on spending their days gossiping and complaining. There is no regard for the children on a management level. I watched adult BCBA’s bully children while displaying severe superiority complexes. It’s a business not a therapy. Commuting is terrible, driving 100+ miles a day and up to 3 hours to see clients after promises of cases close to home. Research before applying here. Look into ABA fully before choosing this route. People who work here are constantly saying they are basically dog trainers for humans. Keep that in mind for the culture you would like from a job.
