Auto-Owners does a good job of being patient with their employees and tries to give them opportunities to grow in their roles. The managers communicate often about your performance and areas you could grow in.

Cons

Even though you work for the company, it is still about who you know. Many people get overlooked for other roles because they aren't best friends with everyone else in the office.

Good place to start career or end a career, just don't work an entire career here start to finish and miss out on the significant increases in pay gained from switching employers. Cost of living only increases from the beginning to the end of a career are a great way to end up working longer and retiring poorer than needed.

Cons

Some roles lack clearly defined paths for advancement.
