Pros

Can make a lot of money with good work ethics. Some of the shop leads are genuinely good people and are trustworthy.

Cons

Some played favorites. Fraudulent co workers. Shop and equipment dilapidated(mostly due to neglect) Large shop lot of techs. Very competitive and political. I usually gave 20 hours a week away to other techs and I was still hated for the hours I made.

Pros

It all depends on your location/brand but there are multiple ways to get leads, like online leads, phone leads, and walk in traffic

Cons

Your commission will vary depending on the vehicle, the manager working the deal, market trends, and how much reconditioning was put into the vehicle if it was a used car. Which makes a sole commission role even more unpredictable for your income.
