Great people to work with, but typical big corporation headquarters runs the deal.

Pros

The management at the location is wonderful. They are very understanding on their staff and as long as you get the job done they don't care about the details. They understand their employees have lives before their jobs. There are great people there who make being at work fun.

Cons

It is a Fortune 500 company. It is a classic big corporation that makes the decisions. They will spend millions on renovations and throw a $25,000 lunch in celebration and then turn around lay people off for budget cuts. We used to have bonuses which were taken away. They even took away the $25 gift cards employees got on their birthdays.

Pros

The company is always trying new things and experimenting with ways to innovate the business. From my experience, every voice can be heard, though you need to prove you can succeed with the current structure first. Current Sr. Management (Mike Jackson in particular) are leaders in the industry and have set AutoNation up for success even in tough times.

Cons

Hours can be long, and depending on the role comp can be at or below par. Some stores/locations don't seem to buy into Mr. Jackson's vision of a peerless customer experience.
