Pros

Camaraderie among fellow technicians, feeling of belonging in the ranks; pleasant physical environment; possibility for advancement opportunities with AutoNation (only for those unaffected by politics and favoritism at individual dealership level)

Cons

Incompetent/inexperienced supervisors; favoritism determines hours and thus income; dedication and hard work rewarded with exploitation and diminished quality of life; constant harassment/retaliation of various types unchecked and even encouraged by management, lack of acknowledgement of competency; constant depreciation and fault-finding by supervisors threatened by confidence; low hours resulting in 12 hour days netting poverty-level paychecks

Pros

Steady employment in a rocky automotive economy. average (just below average) pay for similar jobs in the auto industry. Once you get in you probably will never be fired regardless of job performance.

Cons

Daycare type environment, use of publically posted daily job performance for individuals and groups, severe micro management from the top. Management treats the under performers and top performers the same. Same pay, same benefits, same growth potential.

Pros

Besides the miserable work environment, there's actually some nice guys there.

Cons

They expect you to work 7-7 busy or not on a flat rate pay scale. Management is disconnected. The turnover rate is pathetic, morale is low, almost every person there is miserable. My supervisor didn't even speak fluent English. You're expected to be there every Saturday and Sunday 7-5/7-3. No money, this is a greedy selfish company. My advice is to get a job at a small family shop or dealership where you're appreciated, not this corporate abomination.
