Pros

Nice 401k 3% full match 5%halfmatch, offers stock incentive program. Decent health benefits but still very expensive. Is good place to learn about specialty retail, can hone skills with good support.

Cons

First big thing is lack of general help, from either regional or store level, pay is not the above poverty wages overall, even with promotions the pay rarely scales for the amount of effort and time put in. No repeat no work life balance, this is retail and you are expected to work open to close 13-15 hour days seven days a week if needed. If Salary no over time, that sad due to reason before. POS system while the software is easy to use the hardware and set up is very outdated, this does depend on each store but major overhauls are needed to correct problems at store level.

Pros

You learn how to interact and deal with customers, it can be fun if you have chill coworkers, hour long lunch and breaks depending on how long you work, if sales are good your store might earn free lunch, usually pizza, and if you like driving we do have a delivery aspect of the business. I work mainly the commercial aspect of the business but it is a one team concept so I help walk in customers when needed. Working commercial though I get to know all the repair shops and dealerships. If they like ya then they will hook you up with deals at their shops, but you gotta be good with your customer service if you want customer to like ya.

Cons

Some of the stores are very high paced and stressful. I work at one of the top stores in our district and our commercial program cranks out over 20 grand each week so we are constantly running around with our heads cut off. It wouldn't be so bad if we weren't always short on people. No one wants to work their shift. I swear almost every week we have someone who will come in late to their shift or call out cuz they forgot they had something more important to do. It makes everyone work harder to pick up the slack cuz the people that are scheduled off won't come help if you call to get extra coverage. It usually gets slammed around noon and 6pm. Diy will have a mile long line of customers with only 2 ppl on counter cuz the other guy had to take his lunch and commercial will be lit up with 5 phone calls which is the max amount of lines our phones can hold and there is only 1 person running commercial. The person running commercial has to help the billion phone calls and tell the drivers how to do their jobs cuz they stand there and stare at you while your going crazy trying to help people cuz they are either to lazy to give a sh*t or too dumb to figure out how to answer a phone and help customers. Unfortunately our store is too busy to training the drivers with how to deal with customers. All they know is how to take a part from point a to point b, but even then they can screw it up. They don't match the part to the invoice so they drop off the wrong stuff or they don't pay attention to who they are dropping it off to so they bring it to the wrong shop. In the meanwhile you get chewed out by the shop that they screwed up the delivery for. Such is the life of management, getting chewed out for your coworkers screw ups.

Great Benifits, Company Car, Company Credit Card, Forward Thinking Organization, Great People

Cons

Micro Management, 60+ hours a week, Too Many Variations in Leadership in Different Markets, No celebration of success without asking for more. You are only as good as your last week's kpis.
