Pros

There are some really great hard working people holding this company together. The product outlook is actually good if they can execute on the roadmap.

Cons

“This is a startup” is not an excuse for toxic behavior. “I’m German pardon my German” is not an excuse for undermining female leadership in front of their peers, or ranting at individual employees. Go and read the reviews from Datameer, the CEO’s previous company and you’ll see that this behavior is not something new but deeply ingrained traits that he cannot change. He may be technically brilliant but he is a horrible human being. “Do you think my wife reads these Glassdoor reviews? Do you think the board reads these reviews? You’re not hurting me!” This is what he told the entire company late last year in stead of addressing everyone’s concerns and the comments in the multiple negative reviews. 1 sales person hit quota and she is getting slow rolled on her commission payments. Nobody in the US got close to quota in 2022. There’s one solution engineer left in the US and he’s new. There’s one sales leader globally and he is stretched to the limit. Employees are doing what they can with the resources they have to work with despite the big bad wolf trying to blow the house down from the inside out. I’m sorry for the remaining employees I know these reviews don’t help you while you still work there but many prospective employees need to know what they’re walking in to.

It’s unfortunate to hear you had a poor experience. We do take all feedback seriously. We strongly disagree with the picture you’ve painted here, and are happy to discuss this with any prospective applicants. We have many employees here who find work engaging and fulfilling and are inspired by the CEO’s leadership. We are deeply committed to anti-sexism in the workplace - this is a company wide value and championed by the CEO. The women in leadership here all reject your claims of our mistreatment and are proud to work in a company where women leaders have an equal voice at the table.

Don’t work here in sales

Pros

There are some good people working here

Cons

1 Extreme micromanagement from people who have 0 sales experience. 2 Product issues- how can you tell if the software works during your interview process? You can’t. They have net -2 customers in the US this year because of product issues. Even the demos require a lot of coding and customization. 3 You will not close a deal this year if you start now, they are not hiring to keep up with quota but more as a last ditch effort to avoid bankruptcy. 4 pay is inconsistent across the team, some sales directors make up to $50k more on their base salary. And not one has closed a deal this year.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your insights and understand that Automation Hero may not have been a good fit for your situation and/or experience level. Building a successful start up is hard work and takes a lot of dedication from all team members. While we do disagree with some of your statements, your feedback helps us understand where we need to provide better explanations and background information. We are continuing to develop as a company and have continued to grow our sales each quarter. We do have sales people that have hit their quota for their year and with the continued trajectory we are on will have others that will follow by end of year. Our technical teams make themselves available to answer any product related questions and we have onboarding and weekly opportunities for sales people to learn how the product works, see live demos and understand customer case studies. We offer multiple channels to ask questions and wish we could have answered some of your concerns in a direct conversation. Like most companies, we do use our CRM system and other analytic tools to understand pipeline activity. This can be perceived as “micromanagement” but it’s an important strategy for successful data driven companies and our best sales folks use the data to drive their own success. We are always happy to explain our reasoning. We’re disappointed to hear you did not have a good experience during your tenure at Automation Hero, but wish you all the best in your career.

Pros

Some talented co-workers that make great efforts to build camaraderie and a good work culture.

Cons

-Incompetent CEO and sales leadership that is short tempered and loves micro managing. Employees have been berated over very minor things and there’s a very short leash to being productive before you’re let go. -Product doesn’t work as advertised and seems there’s a lot of delusion from leadership on how good it is. Customers aren’t happy and many evaluations lead to prospects finding out down the line it didn’t work the way we would tell them it would. Struggling big time with sales and rather than focus on making sure the product is feasible, sales gets the bulk of the blame for customers not wanting to expand on moving forward with a product that was presented as a pipe dream. There’s a reason this product hasn’t made it on third party analyst reports where others in the same space of similar size have. -Lots of finger pointing internally which continues to lead to a lot of turnover across engineering and sales. Many talented employees get fired and a lot of others have left after realizing the company is not well run. -No draw offered for sales directors joining — rather you get 2x commission for anything you close in the first 6 months which even the CEO has stated is unrealistic in all hands calls. In my time there no rep closed a deal within their first 6 months and a few even got fired within that time period with no warning and only two weeks severance. This is against the standard for the vast majority of reputable tech sales roles.

We appreciate your input - it helps us to understand areas where we need to communicate better. Having worked at many small and large companies, I can assure you that product development is an ongoing process. We are always happy to answer questions from employees about how the product works and provide demonstrations. We offer multiple feedback channels and wish we could have addressed some of your concerns in real time. Automation Hero’s platform has been validated by many third party analysts, high level CIO/CTO’s and many system integrators, all that have confirmed it is an amazing solution that is solving a major need in the marketplace. Most significant is that we have heard directly from our customers that they want to expand use cases with us because of the value they are getting. We are a data driven company and we do use analytics tools and our CRM system to closely gauge pipeline activity and respond accordingly - for some, this can be misconstrued as “micromanagement,” but it’s very typical in successful organizations. Many of our sales people Again, we are always happy to discuss the reasoning behind our decisions and wish we could have had a conversation about this directly. We thank you for your time at Automation Hero and we wish you all the best in your career.
