Pros

Some people are friendly and helpful. Provides us with good personal hardware.

Cons

there is no plan or effort to bring new people up-to-speed quickly. Systems and architecture were developed 10-15 years ago and vision, technology, and implementation still remain there. There have been several 'reorgs' trying to re-align business and process, but even that seems half-hearted, with a lack of commitment or buy-in.

First, and most importantly, talk to your manager. With so many years at Availity, you must have some useful insights for our technologies' strategic direction. Having open and inclusive dialog is one of our core values, which is why we have quarterly check-ins for managers to meet and chat with their associates. Please use your next check-in to offer your advice in person. And, if for whatever reason you don't think you can talk with your manager, please connect with your HR business partner, and they can advise you. We cannot solve problems if we don't hear about them. You’ve been pushing hard all these years to help make Availity the successful company it is today. It sounds like you are a bit discouraged about the pace of change. During the past year and a half, we’ve been talking about cloud. It sounds like you’re excited about it, and like many of us, can’t wait to make it happen. Availity has made several investments in our technology infrastructure over the years to position us for growth and success in the future. As a network engineer, you understand that even some of the smallest changes can mean significant changes for our customers. Hence, the evolution of our technology needs to work for everyone. Availity's solutions power an entire ecosystem of administrative, business, and financial transactions that our customers rely on to do business and provide care every day. That's why any changes need to be thoughtful and implemented without disruption. We’ve been working hard to define a solid strategy for adding the cloud to our toolset without disrupting the business in the process. While refining the strategy, we’ve also spent the year preparing the ground on the cloud to make it suitable for building secure healthcare applications in an orderly manner. We want to ensure we know how these new processes will work before inviting teams to build new products there. You make the point we shouldn’t rearchitect while deploying new processes. You are correct, and as you can see, we adhere to your view. Reach out to the Digital team and have a conversation with them. True to Availity’s core values, we know they’d love to hear your opinion and share the details. It matters. Lastly, you’ve been with Availity for a long time. We need your personal leadership to influence our strategy, help drive that strategy, and help make this a place that you enjoy working and are comfortable recommending to others. Please let your manager know if you have suggestions for improving your department's onboarding process and other aspects of our work.

Pros

Availity continues to prove how much they love their employees and look out for us. One thing I truly love is, we are ALWAYS kept in the loop. Even if we aren't management and only smaller fries at least someone let's us know what is going on so we aren't thrown for a loop. Lately they implemented "Subject Matter Experts" utilized through Teams and when I say this is a game changer it really is. Availity pays better than minimum wage and offers plenty of benefits. We are happy; not rich but we are able to live comfortably. Our supervisors are dedicated to their jobs. The only thing worse than a terrible employee is a garbage manager/supervisor and you get neither here at Availity. One last thing I forgot to mention is Availity keeps their employees in mind; with experience you can move out of this position you are not locked in forever if you cared to move up to a different position your supervisors will work with you as long as you are going through the appropriate channels and doing a solid job.

Cons

In Customer service it is absolutely inevitable to run into a disgruntled client for whatever reason be it your fault or merely their own fault due to lack of basic computer skills at times. There have been multiple complaints that we are overly secure with how we process things; login processes as well but that is simply put in place for the client's protection.

We agree Availity is a great place to work! Thank you for writing such a favorable review—we’re not sure you left much to add. We strive to run an open and transparent organization where associates can feel informed and empowered, and it sounds like it’s working. Our customer service teams are excellent at working with our customers to resolve technical challenges and questions—even the occasional disgruntled customer. Many of our customers choose to work with us because we are a secure business, and they trust that their information and their patients’ information will be safe. Again, thank you for your feedback. We are glad you’re here!
