Always open positions

Pros

Always open positions for Client Services team members great opportunities for new college grads.

Cons

Senior Leadership lacks strategic direction for the organization. Same goals for past 7 years and still haven't achieved any to date. Management states they only want "B" players to run Clearinghouse functions. All of the positive reviews on Glassdoor are from HR that receives $1500 signing bonus even if the employees don't last a year.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. With 5-7 years at Availity, your insights carry some weight, and we are grateful for the feedback. Yes, Yes, Yes! Availity Client Services (ACS) is a fantastic place to jump-start a career in healthcare—whether clinical, administrative, or technical in focus. Our ACS representatives have gone on to have successful careers here at Availity and out in the world. A company’s strategic direction is meant to be a long-term, multi-year strategy and shouldn’t change each year; otherwise, you’re doing it wrong. To execute on our multi-year strategy, each year, we publish and communicate new operating priorities for our staff. We then reinforce our priorities by setting goals, providing regular updates via live, all-associate meetings, and routine updates through our internal video series, Availity Unplugged. Our Clearinghouse team is world-class, and we couldn’t do it without them. And it’s probably important to point out that our HR team doesn’t get a sign-on bonus or commission when they fill an open role, they love what they do, and our new team members can feel it. A recent quote from our new hire survey says it best, “The process was the most considerate interview process that I have ever experienced. I had never been treated with such respect and acknowledgment of my time and effort than I did with Availity. It made me want the job even more, realizing that this was a one-of-a-kind place to work." Good, bad, or ugly — feedback is the only way we can work to improve. We don’t feel that your point-of-view or experience is representative of the majority of our associates, but that doesn’t mean it’s not valid, and that we shouldn’t do something about it. We do encourage you to take up your concerns internally as well so that we can work to improve your experience.

Pros

I was a little overreacting on my first review. A lot has changed in the past 3 months. Availity isn’t that bad, it’s actually pretty fun and your supervisors are pretty understanding on situations. Here’s my updated list: 1. Overtime. 2. Co-workers- some of the best people you will meet. The team is very much a family. Fit in, you’ll be fine. 3. Company outings. 4. New technologies and techniques you pick up. 5. Networking internally. 6. A lot of room to move up. 7. They actually take criticism and recommendations. If you think something that can work better than the current system, let your boss know, they want recommendation. 8. Healthcare IT experience.

Cons

1. Just the job not company, call center and metrics are not fun. Not my style, although, I show up, I do my job to my best everyday. 2. Contractor pay is low but this isn’t Availity’s fault we do a lot for the pay. 3. Organization and clarification on changes would be nice. The company is learning as much as you are.

We want to start by thanking you for two things: 1) For taking the time to write such thoughtful review and 2) For going back and updating your initial review to reflect the changes/improvements in your experience over time. This says a lot about who you are, and represents the open mindedness, adaptability, and can-do attitude that makes us great – Availity is all of us. We hear you! Working in Availity’s call center is a challenging job, but these roles are so important to our business and our customers—the providers who are on the front lines of patient care every day. It takes time to ramp up in this role, and to learn all there is to learn about the healthcare industry, claims processing, eligibility and benefits, authorizations, etc. And it’s time well spent - Many of our call center associates move on to other departments in the organization and have long, successful careers at Availity or in healthcare. Stick with it! As you mentioned, Availity is learning and growing, this includes process improvement and using new technologies to help us stay organized and serve our clients better. This is a work in progress and your advice is greatly appreciated. Please continue to work with our managers to make improvements where we can.
