      Pros

      Friendly - Everyone around here is pretty dang friendly and helpful. Location - Who wouldn't want to work on an island? Atmosphere - I feel the energy of a start-up that's about to BLOW UP! I see good things happening here at Avalara. Ahead of the Curve - I worked for a fortune 100 company prior to Avalara. I found that Avalara was ahead of the curve when it came down to process, systems, and forward thinking.

      Cons

      I'm fairly new and I haven't found much of a downside yet. I thought it was the orange, but now I can see that I look pretty dang good in orange! They have a lot of internal systems that don't speak to each other. I've found that in many companies I've worked for.

      Pros

      Avalara provides a vibrant, modern, thriving atmosphere. I feel valued and proud to be part of a unique company. I have read negative reviews of the company before I became an employee. Not my experience. (Squeaky wheel gets the grease). My advise to anyone investigating Avalara as a potential employer, research multiple business periodicals. The buzz and satisfaction metrics from customers are the real deal.

      Cons

      Located on Bainbridge Island, just across from the ferry dock. Small town feel yet cultured. You can experience a peaceful commute and be back in the city without getting in your car. Not a bad way to start or end your day (transportation benefits provided!) To look objectively for the sake of constructive criticism, I think Avalara will be experiencing growing pains with in the next few years, outgrowing newly modern architecture headquarters. Honestly, on the bright side this company is blowing up. Get in now.

      Great Technology with a strong customer base. Executive management team has a clear vision on what it takes to build a great company. We work hard! We play hard!

      Too new to have identified; but like anywhere there will be warts!
