Pros

The people are really great. It's like a big goofy family. The culture is great and they definitely make a major effort to help you enjoy work and know your colleagues. Executives are open to employee feedback but you have to be willing to speak out and be ballsy enough to request time with them. Flexible work place (home or office) is great for families with two working parents.

Cons

- If you don't fit in here, it's kind of obvious...meaning, if you are an introvert or have no sense of humor, you might not get a lot of recognition or have a lot of growth opportunity. - Recently, they haven't promoted much internally. Understandable as they need experienced executive leadership to steer the ship where it needs to go... however, they should start a career development/mentoring program so they CAN promote within as the company fills out. - Growing pains with infrastructure trying to support such rapid growth..but this seems to be getting better with some of the new leadership on board. - PR isn't great...but is getting better.

Pros

I feel lucky to have joined when I did (about 3 years ago). We are bringing a technology solution to bear on key business processes still in the dark ages of manual processing. That's sales tax and other indirect taxes. We are leading the way in defining a category -- and that's exciting. The fact that it still feels like a ground-floor opportunity is icing on the cake.

Cons

Historically, the salaries have been on the low side, but I think the company is trying to address and is becoming more competitive. Options are nice, and given to everyone. It's great that every employee gets stock options. But it's also natural that people would like to have more. I believe they grant new options to employees every two or three years or so. Hard to know for sure. The offices were not so great when I started, but we are in a nice new building. But we are growing fast, so it's crowded. I think that's a good problem to have.

Pros

- Decent work/life balance. - Some ability to move to another position. - Great people to work with. - Reasonable access to tools needed for job. - 8 Paid holidays which is about average I believe. - Completly paid employee health care, 90% paid dental.

Cons

- Poor compensation. Not even competative with surrounding employers. - PTO is at or below the median. 15 days is the starting point, increases to 18 days after a few years (20 days after 7 years). - Stock Options are not all that great (not that many, and high excersise price) - The company 401k is awful. No match, and pretty high fees. - Health plan is only okay. Very high deductible though. - Everyone in the company recieves an email everytime a sale is made. But little recognition is given to tech. employees for anything. - This company outsources like nothing I have ever seen. They actually outsource development (not just tech- support), and it really shows in the quality of code produced.
