Pros

Starting pay was much better than what I would have expected for entry-level retail Fantastic discount (75% off most things!) Attracts a great range of individuals from unique backgrounds = diverse Excellent company philosophy Great training Training materials were well-utilized and referenced often. I still have mine because they were so informative! Management was competent and understanding, making schedules hassle-free

Cons

Everyone was a little scared of the regional overseers, but I suppose that's to be expected with a large retail business HQ is in Minnesota, so if you wanted to move to corporate, you need to move to Minnesota. Just saying.

Pros

Aveda has a strong mission statement and company culture. Environmental responsibility is taken seriously. Added benefits such as tuition reimbursement.

Cons

Some managers treat employees with little respect. Unfair compensation-someone may be getting paid $30,000 to do the same exact job as someone getting paid $100,000. Very low morale.

Pros

The discount on Estee Lauder products

Cons

Working for a narcissistic President who undermines everyone below her and treats internal employees and external agency partners with blatant disregard and disrespect. Somehow, Estee Lauder execs (primiarly, Jane Hudis) know of the toxic culture and continue to let Barbara DeLaere run the Aveda brand into the ground through horrible management. At some point, HR complaints and lawsuits should prove that change must happen.
