No pros, unfortunately, nothing good to say about this place

Cons

Downsides of working for aveda are the values they say they uphold but don’t really. They are not genuine. They watch and listen to you through salon cameras constantly. Job security is non existent. You could wear a pair of shoes they don’t like and be fired for not fitting their aesthetic. Which happens to be severely monotone. By that I mean diversity is not encouraged. I honestly wouldn’t apply if you are a black or brown person, they just want people to think they are forward thinking, when in reality they are very controlling. Felt very strange being there.

Pros

Benefits. That’s about it. And really only if you’re having a kid does it benefit you.

Cons

Horrible upper management, zero aveda culture, completely broken processes, horrible culture that is perpetuated at the top, horrible communication, and terribly inefficient processes that change daily. They’ve completely lost what made them special. They let go anyone that was true to Aveda and they have lost sight of the mission. It’s only inclusive and diverse if you’re liberal. Moderates or conservatives have no place at ELC.

Great products and benefits. Great salary, however, that comes from the parent company Estee Lauder, not Aveda.

Cons

Leadership does not understand the industry and will not listen to those with industry experience. No work life balance. Management leads through intimidation. NO Opportunity to advance. Company realignment every few years, losing many valuable employees.
