Pros

Working at Avenues has given me the opportunity to help give people a new purpose and chance at life.  I have learned that I have a chance to make a difference in this crazy world.  Everyday I get to work with an amazing team in a very loving and warm environment.  I have a boss who would do anything to help me or my coworkers at any given moment.  Avenues truly cares about their employees and trust their opinions, whether it is about work or not.  They do whatever it takes to make sure you are ok, but in and out of work.  I am truly grateful for the opportunity to work for such a great company and help save lives on a daily basis!

Pros

Addiction Recovery is a rewarding field to work in as you really make a difference in each clients life. We help them turn their life around and put them on the road to a successful life. Avenues really cares about each and every employee and I really feel part of the avenues family.

Helping those who want to be get healthy

Cons

poor management, lack of communication, lack of accountability on other staff, policies were always changing. If higher ups liked the client then they got whatever they wanted, if not then they made your stay harder. Staff never showed up for shifts or constantly left early leaving others with extra workload. They allowed relationships which made the environment difficult for others. Theres was also lack of help to staff when you really need it. Staff would also fight with each other on other shifts. Earning any kind of vacation or sick time is awful. It takes so long to earn it to get any time off. They also pay extreme low for the amount of work they put on the BHTs.
