IT department live in the 1990's. Can't attract good staff with modern skills. Want to work with modern technologies? Forget it. All systems connected in some way to ancient database systems bound by poor decisions and company politics. Team communication is poor and uptake of version control process is too low to be effective.

Equipment is pretty terrible, generally outdated or malfunctioning. Lab as a whole is pretty outdated and fairly cramped There are some issues with the attitude between departments Unsure if they've done away with it, but they sometimes hire temporary staff as a second probationary period where you are split between the three departments. Makes it hard to learn, and you never feel like you fit in with any of the teams. Pay is entry level, but the quality of work expected is of someone with multiple years of experience. Little progression within the lab, but the skills taught are helpful when moving to a new job
