Salaries are relatively low and aside from learning opportunities there aren’t really other perks that offset this. When I first started the culture was quite confronting, I generally feel like no one cares about you as a person or bothers to make you feel included. I have often been openly talked down to and people will make dismissive comments - It soon becomes pretty obvious that it’s just the culture and nothing to do with you or your skills but you need to have a thick skin. It’s a pity because I think it impacts a lot of people and their motivation.

Just like the Pros of a big company are there, to advance in the company you still need to network, negotiate goals/salary, etc to advance. The structure of BAE does allow you do to that with in the company to leverage other locations' needs to further your goals so you don't need to necessarily test the open market if you hit a hurdle with a budget, boss, etc.
