Pros

The culture at BB&T is very strong; either you love it or hate it. I personally loved it. The conservative culture is very comforting, especially in a largely irrational financial environment. The people are mutually respectful and the values that drive BB&T are very strong. The sales culture is definitely the way to go because that is how all of the senior people are bred in the organization. The LDP program is almost a requirement if you want to stay and rise in the organization. People are great and the salaries are very modest, but the total compensation is fair (not sexy though)

Cons

Can be boring and "slow at times".

Pros

Training is offered for a variety of jobs. Much of it is a waste of time but does give employees some time off their demanding workloads. in this way perhaps it does accomplish something. It sure feels like indoctrination rather than training though.

Cons

It is difficult to advance if you are a recent hire. The culture prevents discourages new employees from contributing. The culture prevents higher managers from interacting with many front line employees for other than ceremonial reasons.
