Pros

Capable of attracting talent with potential for you to build good relationships within and outside of the company. Attractive Woodinville campus. Past history of successful results growing a spirited, entrepreneurial business.

Cons

Wow, BDA ( Bensussen, Deutsch and Associates ), when inflated egos and overconfidence from owners and top management overpower the hard work and team efforts that created a successful company, you get... disaster. Team and Family core values? No, not really. "Tiggers" who "Work Hard and Play Hard" (another core value), are used hard and given superficial rewards like stuffed animals and beer parties while expected to work endless hours with substandard pay. If lucky, you might be partnered with an effective team or a qualified leader. Learn all you can, then take your skills and talent to a stable and truthful place to work. Being a private company, don't expect honest disclosures regarding the financial condition of BDA at company meetings. "Sales are expected to exceed our wildest dreams" means, "If this shiny new penny fails to generate anticipated sales, start packing your desk". 2012: "This reorganization plan ('layoffs') will strengthen our company going forward". 2013: "We expect this to be the last round of layoffs...". 2014: "Thank you for your service over the last 8 years, feel free to use us as a reference". Meanwhile the Careers tab of the BDA website posts that "We're always looking for great people". Note to the Marketing department... you should probably remove the banners dated 2011 "Best Places to Work".

Pros

Employees that see through the challenges and work to make this company the best it can be. The opportunity to set your own course and grow in your career. Every day is different - challenging, fun, impactful.

Cons

A lot of inacurrate gossip (most by former employees) that ends up hurting and scaring current employees. Inconsistent leadership decisions at the top.

Pros

If you are lucky enough to be placed on a great team, work will be fun... If you don't get laid off.

Cons

They say there's a bonus structure but no one outside of the sales team EVER actually received one. Pay is low vs other companies. During my time at BDA, the first year was great. I loved my team, worked hard, and completely enjoyed what I did. Then things started to turn around. Support from upper management went downhill. They started spending way too much money on unimportant new projects that never succeeded, worthless booze fueled parties, and other non essential needs for the company. The owners seem to run around clueless about how a business should be run and take advice from others who are in the same boat. They have no direction or clue or plan and their strategies change day by day. Proof this is true: they won't even email org charts because "it's our policy." C'mon. Tell us the truth - you have NO idea what you're doing. Owners also say they have an open door policy but this is very clearly not true because they get defensive when an employee has a suggestion. For this company to survive they need to stop spending money on worthless things, start putting a commitment into their employees, and hire a consultant to help them learn how to run a business. So glad I'm out of this toxic environment!!!!!
