The title says it all. I left BDA because BDA screwed me out of my yearly bonus which was tens of thousands of dollars. I was told directly by Jay that I had to lower most of my margins for the year to maintain client relationships or else, I did not have a choice. I was told that they would make an exception for me when bonus time came around the following spring. I greatly exceeded my sales, and I did not receive a penny from BDA and they refused to make an exception. Warning, top salespeople. Do not come to this company if you are a high performer, because you will get screwed over. Sorry HR, I don't think you can counter my response. I speak the truth.

Bonus plans are outlined in writing, addendums that follow are documented and signed by both employee and manager, and any deviation to expectations must be in writing. Although you are longer with us, we hope going forward you reach out to your management to address this.

Cool product, some really talented people, passionate CEO.

Cons

Career growth is either supported or stifled depending on your direct manager. Office politics are toxic, even when dealing with HR. It's not surprising that top performers inevitably leave to get better pay and better working conditions elsewhere.

Thanks for your feedback and opinions. You’re absolutely correct, we have cool product, some really talented people, a passionate CEO and we need a little updating to the physical space at HQ to make it more current. We’ve got some resources allocated in the budget this year for that so there will be changes made there. Also good point on the managers and to not get confused with the difference between management and leadership because they aren’t the same thing while they may share similar characteristics. I've been with BDA for almost 11 months now and I've seen both sides of what most of the reviews on here touch on. - Work hard/play hard environment - Frequent and fun company events - Beer Friday - Working on projects for international & Fortune 500 companies - Friendly staff - Company is growing rapidly - Many career paths if you want to try something different - Woodinville is a nice city to work in (next to wineries and more) - Benefits package is great - Pretty flexible with time off - "Make what you want out of it" attitude - Gives you the opportunity to create the change/improvements that you see fit - Great environment for someone who is driven and self disciplined - Annual reviews

Cons

- Everyone wears multiple hats - Starting salary was significantly lower than what what I was expecting (especially in this absurd housing market) - Sales driven company which doesn't seem to invest as much in the other areas/departments - A bit outdated... Seems like the company is just beginning to hatch from its 90's / 2000's shell - Understaffed in certain areas. Puts a lot of pressure of some employees to make up for the job that has yet to be created or staffed
