Where did all these 5-star reviews come from?

Pros

I made a lot of great friends here. Otherwise, the work here was terrible. New employees, be warned.

Cons

Do you notice the sudden inflation of 5-star reviews? This is BDA. They try not to let the outside see what's going on inside. Instead of taking responsibility for low wages, an emotionally trigged management staff and lack of career development, the executives and HR staff try to convince themselves and others they aren't as bad as what their employees are saying they are. A lion doesn't have to tell you it's a lion, just saying.

We are happy that you made a lot of great friends here as there truly are some wonderful people at BDA. Many people have different experiences at their place of work. Some are happy, some aren’t, and some fall in the middle. Those of us who have worked here for more than a year have seen and experienced growing pains but we also recognize that growth requires understanding and adaptation. We’re not trying to convince anyone of anything, other than that possibly the vocal minority doesn’t represent the sentiments of all BDA associates. We just held our company summer picnic and there were hundreds of associates there with their families enjoying themselves. There is still laughter today about the fun. Of course we want quality employees and are working hard to provide a high quality place of employment and we know that we have work to do, but not everything is under a dark cloud. Everything in context. Please come talk to us because we’re serious about improvement.

Don't accept a position with them

Pros

They'll wow you with lavish parties and happy hours. Lots of forced enthusiasm and talk about being a family. They send you merchandise as gifts- a bunch of unnecessary things you'll end up tossing out.

Cons

Too many to mention, so I'll keep it short: -smoke in mirrors (beware) -they promise lots of things which end up not happening - the worst part: they overhire and take you through a strenuous number of events, put you through boot camp (they call it Sales U)...an entire week of no sunshine sitting in a room listening to endless talk and make you put together presentations on the spot. At the end of this, they give you, what else, a party to celebrate your graduation. You get home and then are told you're let go. About half of our group was let go. These are people that said no to other opportunities to take this one and after one month on the job were let go without cause. You didn't even get a chance to have a chance at showing what you can do. I should mention the interviewing process is also strenuous and you'd think they would be able to know at that point who can do it and who can't. Absolutely unfair and unethical treatment of employees due to their own ineptitude. They made a reality show out of the hiring process. The other half that didn't get let go, some of them have left of their own will.

Pros

The people actually doing the work

Cons

Work-life balance is a joke Policy/decision makers don't have one iota about to nurture a positive working environment or even how to strategize/sustain long term growth Exec team is a walking HR violation - HR is there to protect the execs, certainly not employee advocates Tigger-spirit/tunnel is a pathetic attempt to inspire people Planned morale events around timing of "Best Places To Work" elections is very transparent
