Pros

It is a fast pace environment where you have new and exciting challenges daily. It is never the same day to day. The team at BDA is great to work with and it really is Team and Family. You have an opportunity to work with great people and always have opportunities to grow or move within the company.

Cons

You must find a work/life balance at BDA. If not, you will find that you are working crazy hours.

Where did all these 5-star reviews come from?

Pros

I made a lot of great friends here. Otherwise, the work here was terrible. New employees, be warned.

Cons

Do you notice the sudden inflation of 5-star reviews? This is BDA. They try not to let the outside see what's going on inside. Instead of taking responsibility for low wages, an emotionally trigged management staff and lack of career development, the executives and HR staff try to convince themselves and others they aren't as bad as what their employees are saying they are. A lion doesn't have to tell you it's a lion, just saying.

We are happy that you made a lot of great friends here as there truly are some wonderful people at BDA. Many people have different experiences at their place of work. Some are happy, some aren’t, and some fall in the middle. Those of us who have worked here for more than a year have seen and experienced growing pains but we also recognize that growth requires understanding and adaptation. We’re not trying to convince anyone of anything, other than that possibly the vocal minority doesn’t represent the sentiments of all BDA associates. We just held our company summer picnic and there were hundreds of associates there with their families enjoying themselves. There is still laughter today about the fun. Of course we want quality employees and are working hard to provide a high quality place of employment and we know that we have work to do, but not everything is under a dark cloud. Everything in context. Please come talk to us because we’re serious about improvement.

Hi there and thank you for your feedback. To provide some perspective…our decision to expand in the UK was based upon our desire to protect clients and jobs for people of a company that had been put into administration. To be clear, the company in administration was not BDA. We knew it was going to take time to turn things around and if successful, we’d retain client relationships, jobs, and eventually gain trust with the suppliers in EMEA. We are now here a year later and have established strong trade credit, retained most of the former company’s employees and have hired new people in new positions as well. Many clients have renewed their agreements, new clients have joined on, but yes, during the transition, we lost clients unfortunately. I surely wouldn’t describe the situation as “failures across the board,” and I’m sure our associates in London, Manchester, and Paris wouldn’t either. Is everything perfect? Of course not, but our intent is well meaning. Forcing good people to leave is not good business, so why would we do that? That doesn’t make sense. Ideas are listened to, but to be realistic, not every idea can be implemented. And lastly, please don’t mistake an entrepreneurial culture as “fly by the seat of your pants.” Business decisions are always more complex than they appear to be on the surface or from the perspective of one individual. We will continue to invest in the region, partner with our colleagues, and grow with our clients. We are sorry things didn’t work out for you as an individual at BDA but we wish you success in your future endeavors.
