Pros

Executive team tries to connect to the rest of the company regularly and creatively. Good benefits, including membership perks. Many long-term employees contribute to a stable culture- if you want to work at the same place for 20 years, BECU supports that by design.

Cons

Management uneven across the company- some times well supported, others highly mismanaged. Technical decisions are painfully slow and underfunded, so software solutions tend to be highly problematic and require a lot of workarounds. Business decisions are very bureaucratic. If you thrive in a more fast-paced environment, this may frustrate you.

Pros

Good benefits, and most employees were a joy to work with, opportunities for career growth for a subset (maybe not a pro?)

Cons

Too many former bank executives destroying the idea of BECU as a member focused credit union and pushing bad products and sales; low pay; terrible management in my former department with no strategy or vision

More like a bank

Pros

They have good benefits and it's a good place to put your money.

Cons

Not a good place to work, you're constantly being micro managed and the goals for loan dollars are astronomical and incredibly difficult to reach. I've known people who are fired for not reaching them. You deffinately don't make enough money to deal with the stress of the increasingly high goals and management.
