Pros

You won't get fired because the turnover rate is very high. Bonus and pay are standard.

Cons

Bad, expensive health insurance. No 401k match. Low sick days. Work from home is discouraged. No promotions within. Corporate titles are a mess and don't make any sense. Expected to work late hours and weekends with no extra compensation.

Pros

Its pretty straight forward. You make a percentage of what you earn in brokerage. The job itself isnt that hard and you can definitely make a lot of money. But its tough to break in as a young kid unless you know some people at banks / funds that are trading. It can take a years to develop relationships if youre just getting into the business, and most desks dont pay non-brokers a ton of money. A lot of the older guys dont seem to want to give up costumers to younger guys so it can be tough to break through.

Cons

The whole payment structure when it comes to bonuses is pretty bizarre compared to the rest of the street. Benefits seem pretty average

Pros

Funny Work Environment, half of the company can't spell their own name. If you're young, enjoy it and get out.

Cons

Consolidating industry with the top earners holding on to what they can with little incentive to cultivate young talent. Difficult to move up. Bonus's for first year employees is embarrassingly low. About 25% of desks don't even bonus first year employees.
