      BJC Healthcare has a great health insurance plan.

      Cons

      Value is determined by age. If you are an individual over forty five and typically perform at a very mediocre level, you will do very well in the Information Service Department. Advice to potential candidates and current staff looking for a leadership role within the Information Technology Department: Never make a decision, kowtow to the clinical leadership teams and always throw your best IT resources under the bus. You will advance to VP in no time and get your picture on the wall at St. Louis Children's Hospital. This is a proven strategy.

      Great people and overall good work environment. Very good personal growth opportunitues.

      Cons

      Way understaffed. They have fallen into the economic bubble of many companies in that you have one person working on multiple projects at the same time and each of those PM's getting upset with the amount of time dedicated to "their" project. There are a significant number of middle managers, this number should be cut drastically. Most I ever dealt with would too often reject anything that contradicts with their own agenda.
