Pros

Salary and benefits are usually above average. Most low-level managers are good. Mainframe hardware and working environment is one of the best in the industry.

Cons

Every quarter, you read the report reading between the lines to see if the axe could fall on you, and whether or not to contact head hunters. High-level management does not pay attention to biennial employee surveys. Layoffs usually hit the people who have the best product knowledge, requiring the rest to cover even more stuff while trying to learn.

Pros

Good benefits, good pay, big emphasis on ethics and professionalism. Some sales regions have very smart and competent colleagues, some pockets of decent quality software to sell.

Cons

Some very under-performing regions, and departments are tolerated, some ancient software not worth selling, very conservative and slow changing with product direction, a lot of attrition lately (2013-2014), a lot of politics in R&D.

Pros

No, idea. Bonuese were barely paid out and raises were frozen. However, the leadershipt still gave themselves outstanding raises and non-comp options.

Cons

Raises are almost always frozen and when you finally get promoted the raise is almost unoticeable! Work flows down and profits/benefits stay at the top.
