BMC's company culture seems to hinge on promoting unqualified internal people to save money and "see how it goes". The Marketing team in particular seems tied to this model, resulting in poor leadership that lacks experience, knowledge and management skills. Decisions seem to be made in a vacuum, creating conflicting, often illogical mandates that trickle down throughout the organization. In addition, a lack of transparency makes it almost impossible to understand what the long term strategy is for product management, while poor decision making keep lower level employees in the dark, with often conflicting goals.

Senior leadership is inept. They are totally disconnected from the regular workers. The company has frequent layoffs which leave employees concerned for their jobs every day. Too many Directors and VPs in comparison to the number of employees.
